Jetpack Langkawi: Coworking In Paradise

When working as a digital nomad in Langkawi, I searched for the best coworking space on the island. Although my searches showed some options, there was only one that stood out to me.

Jetpack Langkawi.

Located close to Cenang beach, the main area for tourists on the island, it has everything that a digital nomad might need when working in Langkawi. Fast internet, comfy chairs, tea, coffee and a helpful local owner that can tell you everywhere to go on the island.

Coworking at Jetpack Langkawi

Full disclosure, I have worked at Jetpack Langkawi a number of times now, starting for a month in 2023, returning later on in the year and then again for a few months stretching from 2024 to 2025.

It is easy and convenient to work from with beaches close by and a great place to work.

Cost to work in Jetpack Langkawi

Prices start from 40RM per day.

  • 1 Day Pass – 40RM
  • Monthly Pass – 650RM

If you have the Malaysian Digital Nomad Visa, the De Rantau pass, discounts can be offered for longer stays. Weekly passes can also be purchased.

Jetpack Langkawi opening hours

Regular working hours are 11am-8pm, however these are flexible if arranged in advance. Is you contact the owner, Iska, on WhatsApp (+60 19 749 7538) he can arrange for the coworking space to be open earlier or later if availability can be arranged for those meetings outside those times.

Those that want to stay long term will be given a key with 24 hour access if purchasing a monthly pass.

Jetpack also runs a Facebook group for digital nomads in Langkawi, has an Instagram page and can be contacted through their linktree.

Workspace at Jetpack Langkawi

There are numerous tables and comfy office style chairs in the coworking. There are at least 6 individual tables (which can also be shared) and a small sofa space to relax in between streaks of focused work.

The internet is super fast, with speeds of up to 500mbps and it has “slowed down” to 100mbps at times. It is the fastest internet I have experienced on the island and much faster than any hotel or coffee shop. It is also faster than most other coworking spaces I have worked in around the world.

With all the passes, you can get free bottled water, tea and coffee at anytime. Conveniently, there is also a small shower that can be used to rinse of sand if you’ve come straight from one of Langkawi’s beautiful beaches.

Iska, the owner at Jetpack Langkawi, can arrange a complete package including accommodation, coworking and scooter hire or just accommodation and coworking. It is an offer I have taken advantage of before staying close by at Pondok Muara in very basic guesthouse style accommodation. Opposite and slightly nicer is the Daun Resort.

There is also the opportunity to stay at Destini Akef, La Pari-pari in Pantai Tengah and other accommodation options depending on your budget.

Iska can also help arrange some day trips and I have gone kayaking in Kilim forest on a tour arranged by him.

Where else to work on Langkawi

There aren’t any other coworking spaces designed for digital nomads on Langkawi, Jetpack is the only one.

There is a small local coworking in Kuah which seems out of the action. There are also some coffee shops around but without comfortable chairs or fast internet, they aren’t places for long hours of hard core work. If you are staying at Bed Attitude Hostel, they have a small common area where you are allowed to work.

I’ve written more about where to work in my Digital Nomad Guide to Langkawi.

What else is there to do on Langkawi

As a tourism based island, there is plenty to see and do in Langkawi when you aren’t working at Jetpack. I’ve written a guide on the best things to see and do in Langkawi.

My personal highlights would include:

  • Relax on Cenang Beach
  • Visit the SkyBridge
  • Explore Tanjung Rhu and the beach there
  • Visit some of the waterfalls on the island
  • Eat everything at the night markets!

Summing up Jetpack Langkawi

As the first (and in my opinion, best) coworking space on Langkawi, Jetpack is the perfect place for digital nomads to work from on the island.

If you have the Malaysian digital nomad visa, the De Rantau pass, it makes sense to base yourself on Langkawi and use Jetpack as your coworking space. As I’ve worked there for many months over a few visits now, I can highly recommend it to other digital nomads in Malaysia.
